Did You Know?

The NY Times published an article today, December 11th, 2008 Thursday, about the YouTube Partner program. Michael Buckley of the "What the Buck?" (whatthebuck) show claims to be making over $100,000 per year from his YouTube "What the Buck?" (whatthebuck) show. Corey Williams of SMPFilms claims to be making $17,000 to $20,000 per month from his partnership and product placement advertising within his videos.Want to be like Michael Buckley? Check some of the popular search engines (the ones that actually disclose this information) for the most searched terms of the day, and then make videos on those topics. Usually they will be pop culture topics that are steered by the mainstream entertainment media companies. This is largely why "What the Buck?" (whatthebuck) has been so successful... he discusses pop culture and things that a large number of people in our population are interested in. Don't get me wrong, Mr. Buckley works hard at what he does and definitely puts together some clever and humorous commentary on these topics. Me? I'm simply not interesting in pop culture particularly... so, of course, I will just keep doing what I do.

Simple observation. Are there any new partners? (Not counting established meida outlets.) Seems like the offered partnerships to the first round of early adopters, and have since ignored the new and emerging communities that have formed since the first one. Anyone know of any new partners?

Just a though.
Thanks for reading. Read all you want, I'll write more.
